Reflection
This was an interesting and valuable exercise. I enjoyed the process of searching for potential media to could in my mini-course on documentary filmmaking. There is a whole world of content out there that I was unaware existed. I was able to determine that this video file was usable on a couple different levels for my mini-course on documentary filmmaking. The subject matter of writer Ralph Ellison and photographer Gordon Parks, was very relevant to my mini-course as the documentary demonstrated how their different mediums were woven together to tell important and engaging stories about our world. I see now that there is a real value to evaluating OER materials as it relates to a specific learning experience.
I am also now considering the option of making my mini-course available more publicly and create two to three different course levels to open it up to middle and highschool students as well as my main target: college students.
